Quick opinions:

What do you guys think about MLB moving opening day to Thursday?

For one, I think it's cool having the first game of the year during the day again. Although, I do wish it was on a weekend. For the past 7 years or so, I have had a standing "dentist" appointment on Monday afternoons to get home and watch the Mets first game. Figures this year I am out of work, and their first game is on a Friday night.
2008-2023 Mets: 1,143-1,296...469%
2006-2008 Rockies: 242-244...498%

IBC Total: 1,385-1,540...474%
2022: lost WC
2023: lost WC
2024: 1st NL East; lost WC

I love that it's on a Thurs. Hated that "opening day" was just 1 game, and I've never been a fan of Sunday night games anyway. That's part of the appeal of baseball for me, is multiple games at once, checking scores of lots of games at the same time.

I'm just glad that opening day is here. With another 10 inches of snow on tap for tonight, I need this sign that winter can't last forever.

Snow here this morning as well, but it should be melted by the evening.

Thursday is okay I guess. I usually take the day off but could not this year, fortunately I work where there are lots of TV's and we have Directv!

Once I get a teaching job I plan on having every first day of the NCAA tourney off, I've always skipped class or took off work for it since I got out of high school. Baseball's the same way, but luckily around here high schools get out at 2:30 so I won't miss much on opening day

They'll never move opening day to the weekend. Most teams sell very well during the weekend. Opening day is an opportunity to have a sell out during the week. I took a vacation day yesterday. The Cards blew, but I still had a lot of fun. Rode my bike down to the stadium at 7:30 AM and stood in line for 2 hours and got 2 SRO tickets for $5.60 a piece.
