Best Lineups in the IBC

Post by Yankees »

What up Children - I'm going to rank the best lineups in the IBC...

Please follow up this thread with your lineup, 1-9 (for NL teams, add a DH).

Once we get all 30 (or until I get bored and just make lineups for teams), I, in my infinite judging skills, will rank them from 1-30.

Have at it...

Just to answer JP's snide remark - and I already told him:

1) It's my goddamn poll

2) I'm looking for the lineup that's gonna win the World Series - which means you're gonna have to use a DH

3) It's my goddamn poll

Bit early for this, don't you think?

Using my offseason based on the fact that I don't need to have all the positions filled until spring.

I'm doing it when I want to - I have much of this week off and thought I could constructively add to this league.

Submit your lineup and quit crying about it...

I'll never have a top 5 line up...but the team will put the ball in play, and should have as much balance as most of the other line ups.

Line-up
Juan Pierre CF
Kaz Matsui SS
Freddy Sanchez 2B
Paul Konerko 1B
Jason Bay RF
Joe Dillon 3B
Kenji Johjima C
Ryan Spilborghs LF
Jose Vidro DH

I'm too lazy to post numbers...none of these guys should be secrets though...except maybe Joe Dillon's awesome AAA season.
2008-2023 Mets: 1,143-1,296...469%
2006-2008 Rockies: 242-244...498%

IBC Total: 1,385-1,540...474%
2022: lost WC
2023: lost WC
2024: 1st NL East; lost WC

I think that everyone knows that NYY has the best lineup. Without seeing some of these in front of me, KC, Florida and Toronto are three others that are really tough. Arizona will be top three soon.

The Tigers are a year away from being awfully salty, with Gordon and S Drew entrenched, McCutchen potentially contributing, and the catching situation having time to receive some attention. As it is, we look like:

1. Willy Taveras - CF
2. Jeremy Hermida* - RF
3. Matt Holliday - LF
4. Prince Fielder* - 1B
5. Miguel Cabrera - 3B
6. JD Drew* - DH
7. Howie Kendrick - 2B
8. Mark DeRosa - SS
9. David Ross - C

Bench/Platoon
Shawn Green* RF
Stephen Drew* SS
Alex Gordon* 3B
Wilson Betemit# IF
Andrew McCutchen CF
