Barry Bonds has been indicated by a federal grand jury on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice.

Why does it suck? He either did the deed or he didn't. f he did it and it can be proven, he deserves to be prosecuted and punished. If he didn't (which I personally doubt) then he'll be cleared.

I say about time, get the bastard out of baseball.

Give up to Barry. The only time I ever liked the guy is the day where his indictment overshadows A-Rod on the verge of signing a record sports contract with the Yanks.

Oh, and if anyone cares, Peavy won the NL CY Young.

It sucks because the stain of an indictment is there even if he's completely innocent (yeah right). It sucks because the chain of custody on the so-called smoking gun drug test is so bad that it's not going to be able to resolve anything, the people who already think he did it will be more convinced, the people who don't or don't want to have another conspiracy theory they can bring up. Worst of all, it perpetuates the idea that this issue is all about Barry Bonds when in fact it is much more insidious. Would the feds have let Pablo Escobar walk in exchange for his testimony against any of his clients? Bonds deserves to be disgraced for the way he exited San Francisco and his behavior all the way through, but that should not come at the expense of making meaningful changes that might actually slow down the use of performance enhancing drugs.
