Question
Question
Do you do any shopping on Amazon.com? If so, roughly how much? I was thinking that if we put a single Amazon.com ad in the upper right corner, we could use the funds to offset the hosting costs and should there be any leftover
Amazon.com pays out 4-20% of the cost of purchased items depending on the types of items ordered (4-8% on most, 20% on amazon.com .mp3s).
If we did this, would you be bothered by the ad? Would you use it?

We're basically going to sign up as affiliates on pretty much all of these sites. I'm not 100% positive on the exact methodology, but from what I know offhand, basically you'll come to the IBC site, go to the affiliates page, click the amazon button, that will take you to amazon and you shop like normal. We'll then receive a percentage of your sale back (it differs by site, varying from 1% to 12% for the sites we're looking at I think).
one of the plusses on amazon.com is that those of us who subscribe to Baseball America, you can order the newspaper subscription for $2 less than if you do it through BA's website (and get 4% or more to go to the IBC). Ditto the BA books are available for preorder (for $10 less!) through Amazon (again with 4% or more going to the IBC).

Half.com and newegg.com added to the affiliates page. Amazon, eBay and StubHub were already up. Look for more shortly.
Keep in mind, you're in no way required to take part, we just ask that if you were going to use these sites anyways, click through our links and continue shopping. Don't feel pressured to buy more or anything.
