Franchises Moving

Post by Cardinals »

The ExCo has been busy with the idea of realignment lately and we have finally reached a decision in which all members of the committee have agreed upon.

First, we have contacted all people interested in moving. That has most notably been Dan and a few others expressed interest. For those who had supported free movement, I point you towards this thread: http://ibc.poweralleycircuit.com/viewtopic.php?t=480 where I asked if anybody were interested in moving and received that result.

That said, GMs contacted us individually, Dan obviously to the league and Ken as well. I have also expressed interest in moving but what else is new. We had decided we would come up with a scenario before and during the new GM process and we told the new GMs specifically that they would not be bound to that franchise.

That said, the following decision is what we have come up with:

Dan [Bal] will be moving to Florida.
Ken [Fla]will be moving to Washington.
Shawn L. [Was] will be moving to Houston.
JP [Hou] will be moving to Pittsburgh.
Jason G. [Pit] will be moving to Baltimore.

We came up with that decision based upon who had shown desire to move and in the best interest of competitve balance. The AL East which deemed by most of the league as being too strong has been diluted slightly by taking away Dan's team. The NL East is strengthend as it needed a little kick. Ken is granted his wish to leave Florida with no hesitation as it was an intradivision move, the same with me. Both GM's weren't fans of their parks.

From this point forward, ExCo will be very reluctant to allow moves outside of your division except in the case of a favorite team opening up. If that occurs, then we will do the best to accomodate you. As for moves within your own division, if there is a legit reason for it then there really is no reason not to allow it, but we will still take the time to look at it. This does not apply to newbies who did not get any say in which team they would be. We will review those on a case by case basis.

The moves will be official in the OOPSS within the next few days when Shawn has the time to make the appropriate changes. We will also alert you when this occurs.
