2015 NFL Playoffs
2015 NFL Playoffs
It's playoff time and nobody is saying anything? No gnashing of teeth from Aaron over whether to root for Peyton or the Colts? No bitching about Brady? No fury over the Lions getting legitimately hosed by the refs? No cracks about Chris Christie being part of the Cowboys mojo?
My picks for the weekend:
Ravens over Pats - fucking Ravens give them fits in the playoffs and the O line is utterly untrustworthy lately.
Colts over Broncos - It's going to be cold and this Broncos team is lacking some mojo.
Packers over Cowboys - This won't even be close. It's Aaron Rodgers' year. Again.
Seahawks over Panthers - I don't care enough about this game to say anything other than my pick.

I'm with you on all those but the Colts over the Donks. Its cold and the Broncos might be lacking some Mojo, but they've also found their running game and gotten some players back over the bye week that are key players on defense. CJ Anderson is a beast. The Colts D is terrible. I think the Broncos take this one rather easily in the end, although it will be fairly close and tense going into the 2nd half. Just my gut.
Otherwise, I'm with ya. I like the Ravens over the Pats. They always give the Pats fits. Looking for a Ravens / Broncos AFC rematach.
Seahawks, after some early season issues, seem to have really gotten their shit together and look pretty dominant again. Aaron Rogers and company should end the cowgirls season. Romo will turn back into Romo. Has to be the narrative.

I can't remember the last time I saw a quote from Brady like this:
"So, Tom Brady: What's your routine for getting ready in the cold?
"I know exactly what to wear. I know how many layers to wear every degree," Brady told CSNNE's Tom Curran on Wednesday. "I'm a (bleeping) machine, man, I'm a (bleeping) machine! C'mon baby!""

Playoff Football! It doesn't get any better than this!
Seahawks over Panthers: Two teams on winning streaks, one a paper tiger the other is for real. With Star Lotulelei out for the Panthers and Unger back for the Seahawks the news just keeps getting worse for the Panthers.
Packers over Cowboys: only because it is being played at Lambeau Field. If this was in Dallas I think the Cowboys would be able to exploit that weak Packers defense and take advantage of a stationary Rodgers. In the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, Romo coughs it up.
Pats over Ravens: I just don't think the Raven's offense gets it done on the road.
Broncos over Colts: If the Colts had any kind of defense I'd pick them, but they don't and the Broncos will win despite Payton Manning in this one. Broncos defense will dictate the outcome in this one.

Patriots over Ravens -- just not the same two teams that matched up two years ago. Talib went down, changed the entire game. Revis, Browner et al give the Patriots something they haven't had in their previous playoff runs.
Seahawks over Panthers -- Moving on.
Broncos over Colts -- If the game were in Indy, I'd be inclined to pick the Colts with Manning's poor play lately, but, it's in Denver. If Indy has the case of the drops like they did last week, they'll be smoked out of the building.
Cowboys over Packers -- Upset of the week! I think Dallas' running game is superior to Green Bay's. Rodgers should be a little limited with his injury. I think Jerry gets to be happy for one more week.

Seahawks over Panthers - Yea, hate it as a 49er fan but Cam Newton is going to have to play crazy stupid to overcome that defense and the 12th man up there.
Broncos over Colts - Peyton will be fine as long as it isn't raining.
Packers over Cowboys - Romo will go back to being his old Romo self in the cold, especially if they fall behind this team on the Frozen Tundra.
Ravens over Pats - Brady can be a machine all he wants but I will take the team that has been playing sloppy football to ground and pound it out.

"My shit doesn't work in the playoffs. My job is to get us to the playoffs. What happens after that is fucking luck."

Panthers over Seattle: I hate the Seahawks and their games are always 13-9 affairs vs the Panthers, hopefully Carolina can eek one out and everyone can shut up about Wilson being a great QB
GB over Dallas: Packers win big, Jordy goes for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns
Ravens over Pats: The Ravens give the Pats fits and Flacco somehow turns crazy in the playoffs. If the refs don't allow Browner to mug whoever he's covering like they always do, then one of the Smiths could have a nice day
Colts over Broncos: Going with my heart here. Colts D shuts down shitty offenses and gets lit up by good ones. The Broncos have trouble with tight ends, so Allen and Fleener could have good games. If Boom hangs on to the ball this could be a hell of a game

Pats over Ravens.... Don't buy this Ravens team at all. Don't trust either of the Smith WRs, don't believe in Flacco vs the Pats D, and their running game is a joke. Forsett has seriously fallen off the last few weeks.
Broncos over Colts....Colts are one dimensional...again. Broncos playing a little bit of possum lately, limited playbook, took their time getting Julius Thomas back and I think he's going to go off. Calling 2 TDs for JT. Just don't think this Colts team can go into Denver and win.
Dallas over GB - Romo's playing great, Dez is playing great, Demarco's playing great, and Rodgers is hobbled. Dallas can control the clock with murray and I don't think this GB D has an answer for him.
Sea over Car... have you seen Carolina this year? If you can't look impressive against Lindley and the Cards you have no shot traveling to Seattle.
Pats over Broncos
Cowboys over Seahawks
Cowboys over Patriots, Brady tears both ACLs, Gronk knocks himself out of the game when he spikes the ball so hard it bounces back up, hits him on the head and gives him a concussion, and Christie passes out in the cowboys box on live tv after Romo's game winning drive. It will be one of the best days in American history.

Pats over Ravens - Everybody up here's all worked up about how Playoff Joe and the Flaccos are the one squad New England didn't want to see coming to Foxboro this January. Sure the Pats have had some OL questions, and the Ravens come with a pass-rush capable of moving Brady off of his spot and impacting offensive rhythm, but the Baltimore DBs gave up 350 and 6 TDs to Roethlisberger and closed the season facing Blake Bortles, Case Keenum and Connor Shaw. FS Will Hill comes in at 6'0" and 2-bills and will cover that unstoppable goon, Gronkowski. Brady and Belichick at home in the postseason are 14-2 together. Picking against them in this spot is, like, statistically unwise man.
Packers over Cowboys - Rodgers is the best QB in the game. Tony Romo is... not that. I'm not typically a hater. Romeo is a perfectly above average QB, so long as it's not late in the game in December/January. At Lambeau. Romo's got a little bit of Carson Palmer in him... specifically Palmer's uncanny ability to look good most of the game/ season then throw an inexcusable, game-deciding pick at a crucial moment late. Green Bay wins at home here.
Colts over Broncos - Admittedly, the Colts D doesn't scare anyone. Those wobblers Peyton was unleashing with his noodle arm late in the season? Terrifying if you're a Denver fan. The Colts have played the Broncos pretty well the last couple of years with Luck driving the bus and I think Manning and the Donkeys will wobble to a loss at home against Luck and the Neckbeards.
Seahawks over Panthers - This one seems too easy, but I think we know what's going to happen here. Unless Cam Newton has an as-yet-unforeseen superstar-mode to match his annoying post-game Superman celebration, I don't think Carolina can score enough to beat Seattle and all their fucking loud yellers. Seahawks win the turnover battle, mix in a little beast-mode and some Russell Wilson juju (the anti-Romo), and Seattle does the job as expected.

Dear Steelers fans,
Do you know what you do when you get hosed on an incompletion that you think should have been a fumble or sack? Your team sacks the f*** up and makes another play instead of tucking their tail between their legs and bitching about it for the rest of their lives. That's what good teams do.
Suck it!

Couple of decent games yesterday. Thought the Ravens might actually pull it out. Brady nutted up after throwing that pick.
Carolina hung around with that pesky defense of theirs, until Chancellor put it on ice.
Russell Wilson........not bad for a "game manger" QB.
The Seahawks have really owned the 4th quarter this season.
Looking forward to a couple more good games today.

Agreed, I dunno WTF JP was thinking there, that game was easily the biggest upset candidate on the board and the result bore that out. That was one hell of a friggin game.Rockies wrote:So, I understand that the Pats won, but I think we can all agree those that picked the Ravens were hardly "dumb". Guarantee all you Patriot fans were on edge the entire game. Great game until Flacco pulled a Romo.
And the bullshit PI call that was made on Revis in third(?) quarter?Cardinals wrote:The missed pass interference on Gronk on 3rd down canceled out the missed pass interference on Owen Daniels earlier in the game on 3rd down. The ignored holding in the end zone by Revis on Steve Smith was bullshit
Bad calls/non-calls don't cancel each other out, every one makes it that much clearer that the refs are fucking up the game. Penalties and non-calls should be subject to challenge review.
And penalties per game should be something fans can look up on NFL.com just as easily as anything else that affects the outcome of a game.
