Glen Perkins

Post by Cardinals »

LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Glen Perkins is dealing with "some nerve irritation and maybe a slight muscle strain" in his left elbow.
Neal adds that the ailment "doesn't appear to be serious." However, with just a week and a half left in the season, the closer will undoubtedly be shut down. The good news is that it doesn't sound like it will be a long-term issue for Perkins. Jared Burton will continue to fill in as the Twins' closer.

Glen Perkins has been shut down for the remainder of the 2014 season due to a left forearm strain and nerve irritation in his left elbow.
It's actually terrific news for the Twins and for Perkins, as a precautionary MRI revealed no damage to his UCL. He'll take part in an offseason strengthening program, and is expected to be back to full-strength in around two months. He'll be ready to go for spring training 2015.

Tough one for me.

This looks like something that he'd hit the 15-day DL for...I'd call him out in the IBC
