DMB11

Post by Cardinals »

So, DMB released Version 11 in the middle of July with little fanfare. It's an upgrade over V10, and has the proper playoff format (finally), as well as other features.

We are going to switch effective, well, immediately. I encourage everybody to purchase the software but if you're hurting for $29.95 and can't purchase it on your own, please PM me and we can work something out for your lineups/h2h the rest of the year.

If you purchased V10, you can email the DMB store (DMB_info@imaginesports.com) and they'll give you a discount code to make the software $14.95.

Switching mid season seems kinda silly, but meh.. So you can't ingest v10 zip files into 11?

It's a superior product that has the playoffs in the correct format.

I'm not sure what the issue is, it takes all of two minutes to install?

Mostly I'm wondering about the sim engine, as someone who typically runs 6 kajillion sims (admittedly not as many this year, hence my current record :D), I had a pretty good idea about what made v10 go, if there's something about v11 that works slightly differently I'd like to have the offseason to test it's impact and figure that out. If the sim engine is exactly the same and the changes are only cosmetic my complaint is withdrawn, but I suspect if that were true the upgrade wouldn't be necessary.

I'll get the new software... Just a matter of when. Wondering if version 11 still imports zip files for MPs and if it's backwards compatible. Any insight?

On Tuesday July 1, 2014, we will be releasing a new version of Diamond Mind Baseball, DMB V11. The price for DMB V11 will be $29.95 for new users and $14.95 for all current owners of Diamond Mind Baseball Version 10. If you wish buy purchase a "bundle" of DMB V11 and the 2013 season database, that price is reduced to $49.95.
To receive your discounted price, you must request a special discount code (similar to the process used for a new dps season) by contacting: dmb_info@imaginesports.com. Due to the number of requests that we anticipate, there may not be an immediate response to your request. However, we will handle all of your requests just as expediently as possible.
It looks like someone is manually generating codes which means that it'll be a while before we all get the discount codes. Can we push the upgrade back a week to give people a chance to get the discount?

Also Nate, in response to your question, found on the DMB forum that v11 is not at all backwards compatible

I bought it and downloaded and it appears that I have both v.10 and v.11 on my PC ... will the league file we get tonight/tomorrow morning be the one we install on v.11?

Yep. I also sent one out yesterday that should work for V11.

Bought v11. First time actually buying DMB software, so now I want to use it more. Anybody know of a way to play past seasons without having to dish out $25 for every season on the DMB site?
