ok, so I request a ruling on adam dunn's elgibility. i'll try to be brief as I'm on my palm pda.
he has arthroscopic surgury on his knee to clean debris last week. his knee had bothered him for the last 2 seasons & he played with it. the reds have nothing to play for & after problem remained after rehab/rest last offseason they put him under the knife - again they have nothing to play for. in addition to debris they find a tear.
However, I fully contend that if something were on the table for the reds, he would have been on the field & surgury wouldn't have even been in the picture.
Another big grey area on this one. I fully believe he would still be playing if he were on a team with something to play for. this is supported in several articles about dunn since the surgury. he's obviously played with it for 2 years now.. original surgury was just for debris, only then did they find additional damage. additionaly, dunn isn't even on crutches following the operation.
I would like to think that under the current rules/guidelines established in our charter that dunn would be elgible - however, in the interest of fairness & the best interests of the league, I wanted to bring this up for discussion before making assumptions as to dunns elgibility & causing a stir by playing him.
ruling: dunn

Adam Dunn will have his sore right knee examined by a team doctor on Monday.
Dunn started Sunday's game, but left in the sixth inning when the knee became too sore. "It's just when I ran around third in the first inning, it was hard to stop," Dunn said. "That's the main reason for concern on my end."
That being said, as an NL playoff team I don't mind him playing. But Molina, he must be out for our series only
