April 8: Joe Saunders (of the Astros) and Oswalt tangled, with Oswalt winning 13-3. Oswalt lasted 7 innings giving up 2 earned, while Saunders was roughed up for 6 earned in 5 innings.
May 15: Rich Hill and the Dodgers defeated Freddy Garcia and the Cardinals 8-3 behind 7 1-run innings from Hill.

June 28: Maddux started on short rest and pitched 3.2 shutout innings before being relieved.
August 10: Oswalt and Hill met again, however the game was decided by the bullpens with the Cardinals winning 3-2 on a walkoff Markakis single. Hill threw 7.2 innings giving up 2 earned runs, and Oswalt lasted 7 also giving up 2 earned. Both pitchers struck out 9.
August 11: Jeremy Sowers outpitched Joe Saunders as the Cardinals defeated the Dodgers 7-2. Sowers picking up the win, gaving up 2 earned in 6 innings and Saunders was tacked with the loss, giving up 3 earned in 5.1.
Sowers and Oswalt won their only starts versus the Dodgers. Lackey did not face the Dodgers.
Hill and Maddux were both 1-1 in 3 starts against the Cardinals, Saunders was 0-2.
St. Louis and Los Angeles split the season series 3-3. Both teams swept at home.
