Well we all know how Dan wants to exit the AL East, right? But he wants to stay in the AL, right? What if we took away one of those options, well not take away, but not let him choose where to go.
Basically what I'm saying is this.
If you want to or are willing to move, you leave it in the ExCo's hands where to put you. We'll move teams around for the sake of competitive balance (and no there is no permanant answer but you can call moving teams a band aid if you want, but if you do it consistently every 2-3 years then that is the permanant solution.), but we won't move you to where you want to go unless it's a favorite team.
OFf the top of my head, these are the teams that were willing to move:
Jim- NYM
Dan- BAL
JP - HOU
Seth- TEX
John- COL
there could be others as well (hence the reason I started that thread.) ExCo would then decide who goes where to make the most sense for the league. I still say Shawn's idea was a solid one, but the teams moving wouldn't really have much of a say even as ExCo's (Jim and myself.) Let's not forget that this league is for fun. Being stuck in the AL East as the 4th place team year in and year out probably isn't much fun. Dan's taken his licks, he has a right to leave if he wants to. That's just my opinion. I personally like division jumping every year as well to take on new GM's. I don't mind staying within division or whatever. I'd ideally like to get to play in a pitchers park some day (Pittsburgh, San Diego, Washington - though Im not sure what their new park wil lplay like) and then probably stay put there. It just adds more spice to the league for me at least.
But my proposal stands as: if you want to move, it's in ExCo's hands where, not yours- unless it's a favorite team.
