Since I can't seem to beat the Devil Rays it looks like Ye Olde Towne Teame is going to miss out on the playoffs so we'll be putting some players on the market...
C Victor Martinez .301/.373/.507 24hr's Not sure I want to move Vic, but I'm open to offers. As we all know, or ought to know, the 28yr old V-Mart is the best catcher in baseball (yes Mauer is better defensively, we know, but Martinez is a better hitter and has a little more luck staying healthy).
SS Mike Young .312/.364/.414 Another guy that I'm not necessarily looking to move, but rather, making available.
CF David Murphy .356/.402/.578 Murphy has shown a lot of power, with 10 doubles, to triples and two homers in 90 AB's. We're committed to Crisp here in Boston, but I'll field offers on Murphy. Or Crisp if the price is right.
2b Ronnie Belliard .290/.330/.427 11hr's, Belliard is 15th among 2b in OPS, he's no stud, but he'll do a darn fine job for you with an above average glove to boot.
SP Carlos Silva 4.40 era 1.33whip After a stellar 2005 and horrifying 2006, Silva did about what he ought to do in 07, be a decent Mid rotation starter. His 4.40 ERA would have been better if he'd had a decent defense behind him. His GB/FB ratio of 1.56 is quite solid and 15th among pitchers with 180+ IP.
SP Chris Carpenter Also not sure on moving Carpenter. his rehab is going well and he's shown himself to be able to bounce back from major injury in the past (though TJ is pretty routine now), but I'll field reasonable offers.
Also Available...
Curt Schilling
Kevin Millwood
I'm looking, not surprisingly, for starting pitching, but will also consider catchers, SS/2b and 3b
