Ok, admittedly, i went to far on the simming issue. I do still feel it needed to be addressed and that you guys were wrong in your decision, but that's no excuse for not handling it better than I did and for that I apologize to each of you.

One thing that occurs to me, is that with the public debates, it becomes harder for the whole ExCo to stand behind a decision, especially if ExCo members are leading different sides of the public debate as JP and I did on the Sept/Oct trading issue. That obviously does not lend itself well to presenting a 'united front' after a vote.

I think as long as we present our decision with only one opinion (the majority's) 'united' should be a somewhat fluid term. IE don't announce a decision and then say the alternatives we were considering and don't reply to the announcement saying it was the wrong decision.

As I said last night, it is not for us to pretend to be behind something that we are not. All that we have to be careful to do to present the appropriate "unified" front is to show respect for each other when we debate before something is voted on and then whether the vote went 'my' way or not, we respect the results of the vote and maintain a stance of respect for how everyone voted. As I also said last night, that will only happen if guys are sincere and objective with their votes and not petty and manipulative.

But asking guys to pretend to believe something that they don't is disingenuous, gives off an uncomfortable vibe to the rest of the league, and will never stand the test of time, as we have already seen (in only a few weeks).

That being said, in the whole September trading debate there was a lot of piling on Bren from ExCo members, that shouldn't happen.

I'm as guilty of this as anyone, but didn't anyone consider proposing a compromise at any point? We're all supposed to be working together, that's something we should be doing more often such as when JP and I reached a compromise on the pick trading penalty. neither side was entirely thrilled with the result, but it was an improvement and resolved the issue.
