Colts go 14-2, lose a game in Jacksonville in a last second field goal and get singlehandedly beaten by Vince Young in Nashville

As long as Kiffin acknowledges that McCown sucks and switches to Culpepper the Raiders will win more games than the 49ers.

McCown wasn't the whole problem. The defense was terrible. I know the Lions have a good offense, but the Raiders' secondary's supposed to be one of the best units in the NFL.

I noticed this while looking at rotoworld.com:

Tom Brady, QB Patriots
August 22nd

Actress Bridget Moynahan, the ex-girlfriend of Tom Brady, gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday evening.
The two broke up last winter after a three-year relationship. Moynahan was a solid value pick, but Brady did well to upgrade to Gisele, a true every-week starter.

The secondary will get better, Martz had Ryan outschemed in that game. Martz is a mad scientist, and he'll get you sometimes, but mostly what happened was that Ryan thought Michael Huff could cover a wide receiver 1 on 1, which it turns out he can't. I wasn't talking about that game in particular, I was talking about the season in general, McCown gives them no chance to win even if the secondary is spectacular because he sucks.

McCown wasn't so bad, other than a couple of off-balance throws he shouldn't have made. They'll have to make a move with a QB in the next few weeks now that Russell has signed, and I think we'll either see them trade Walter (maybe to Atlanta) or cut Culpepper. If Daunte knows the offense well enough after next week and McCown struggles in Denver I'm sure Kiffin would make Culpepper the starter. He doesn't have any other reason (loyalty/money, etc.) to stick with McCown.

Apparently McCown's hurting, so maybe Kiffin has a good excuse to start Culpepper in Denver. If McCown's not 100%, I'd like to see what Daunte can do before they have to decide who to cut in a few weeks.

Walter's getting cut, he represents the failure of Shell/Walsh. Culpepper so clearly outperformed McCown in the preseason, not just statistically (which is suspect because McCown started 2 games so he spent more time against the opponents 1st team plus it's preseason) but just in terms of composure in the pocket, decision making, and generally looking like someone who actually belonged on a professional football field.

I actually think there are a few teams out there that would give a late round draft pick for Walter. Atlanta among them. Then again they might just wait for him to be cut and give up nothing. They have to keep Daunte now that they gave him that roster bonus. However, it is the Raiders and they did straight up cut the first pick of the third round, so who knows.

I predict another Pats title, followed by lots of crying from pretty much everyone else in the elague even though most teams do the same videotaping.

Ah, the sound of Pats fans in denial. Hmmm, defensive leader gets caught buying drugs, then the team gets caught cheating. No wonder everyone hates you guys

Yeah, so lets call him a cheater. Not like you can't snap polaroids on the sideline. Peyton looks at a TON of those during the games. I think he must cheat.

The Pats got punished. They lose a first rounder.

Has Your Opinion Of Belichick, Pats Changed?
No way! What a genius! Belichick knows everyone has the Pats favored to win it all. How to keep focus? Create an "us against the world" situation. Not only does he inspire his offense for the rest of the season - after all now they have something to prove to the world - but he creates paranoia for opposing defenses. The Pats offense will want to show everyone how good they are and not because of sign stealing. Instant motivation! Opposing teams will be wasting valuable resources trying to keep the Pats off guard. Their defenses will need to learn additional signs instead of plays. The time they take to try to prevent the Pats from "cheating" will detract from their overall game plans. Again - GENIUS!!! Bill laid the trap and Mangini took the bait!!! I smell another SUPER BOWL!!!

I am of this camp firmly. I would not want to face New England this year.

While I think the idea of getting deliberately caught at something like that is a stretch... I also think the idea that BB is dumb enough to get caught doing something like that is even more of a stretch.
