Moving Pitching

Post by Yankees »

I've got 4 starters to move that can definitely help teams in contention:

Brandon Webb - Actually throwing the ball faster than 70 mph, looks decent to return in the next month. He's not the pitcher of old, but he's an absolute game changer in the sim (3.56 era in Texas, 127 era+).

Rich Harden - Absolutely filthy in his AAA debut yesterday (3 ip, 1 bb, 0 h, 6 k's). He has a 109 era+, and has always been dominant when healthy (I am familiar with the key 2 words in that sentence). He is being rushed back to the A's, and is showing zero signs that he's not all the way back with his stuff (though remaining healthy would certainly be an issue of interest).

Jake Westbrook - 97 era+ w/ a 4.11 era in the SIM. Jake is struggling at the pro level, but is coming around a little. He'd be very good for a team with a nice infield and a big park.

I'm also looking to move Travis Hafner, who is tearing the cover off the ball (.975 ops), for a more permanent 1b...

Also willing to move Michael Young (.307/.346/.429) for a more full-time 3b.

I'm willing to combine any/all of the above to locate young pitching, a full-time 1b, and/or a 3b. I'm not deadset against moving any for any...

So here's the thing...I got a couple tepid offers.

However, I can promise you that the price will only go up once they play in the games. I'm willing to move Webb & Harden now under the auspices of wildcards, but will not once they hit the pros again...

And then will once they go back on the DL, who doesn't love the Rich Harden injury carousel? :D

Harden is going today.

Webb is pitching AAA start on Friday, and then looks like he'll be activated off the DL after the ASB.

He has a 127 era+...seriously. I'm not looking for the moon for him...

If you have an interest, please jump in...

Looks like Webb will go tomorrow at the absolute latest...if you want in, you haven't much time.

Westbrook won't cost much but a pretty solid prospect, an RP for 2012, or a bench bat for 2012. If you have one of these, you can get yourself an above average starting pitcher in the SIM...

Brandon Webb (shoulder) admits that he's not sure he'll pitch for the Rangers this season after his latest setback.

MRI doesn't look good. Likely done for the year.
