Future Astros

Post by Rockies »

Despite having a few more wins than I thought was an actual possibility..The Astros are still looking towards the future..maybe the distant future. I dont yet have that one knock out type prospect we all hope to have..but many have played well in the Minor leagues in 2011

1. Anthony Ranaudo SP. Has had a few rough outings and started out a level lower than I felt. Seems like he will get a promotion to Hi-A.

2. Billy Hamilton. SS . He has struggled, hard to steal first base. Very raw and got excited by last year. He is gonna take awhile..but coul be worth it.

3. Nick Franklin SS. Seems like with Franklin and Hamilton being 2 guys I was excited about..both have struggled some. I like that Franklin has cut his K rate way down, but hasnt hit for power in the Cal league..which seemingly everyone else does.

4. Mike Olt 3B. I really like this guy..good defender, power, patience. But no clear room in Arlington.

Those are a few of the guys. As I said..I dont yet have those top type prospects..but have alot of guys that are all pretty much lumped together. I have a few SP that seemed to have turned into keepers in Charlie Morton and Kyle McCllellan.Darwin Barney seems like a guy who can contribute for awhile. Trayvon Robinson, Tyler Flowers, Matt Davidson, Roger Bernadina and others are playing at the major league level for the IBC Astros. I should have a top 5 pick in a good draft this year.

Things are looking up in Houston...just may be in 2014

Future Astro Arms

Post by Rockies »

Its been a tough season..but the future us starting to look bright. Of course that future is looking like small improvements on the field the next year or 2..then a hopeful jump to at least being respectable...looking to ride these arms into the future

AA SP Henderson Alvarez(is getting the call to start Friday night in the majors)

Blake Beavan(not real high on him long term..but has had some success in the bigs in 2011)

Ivan Nova(I hate Yankees..but has been solid in the majors and I think he has turned the corner)

A+ Drew Hutchison(like this kid alot...)

I also have Charlie Morton who can make up part of the future.
