Just putting out feelers

Post by BlueJays »

I'll only deal for the right price since I'm perfectly content with my team now, but here's some guys I could make available. I'm mainly looking for young solid bats for corner OF.

Carlos Gomez - very solid defender, hoping this is his break out year at the MLB level, only 25 yrs old so he could end up being a solid piece to a team next season

Carlos Carrasco - had a decent cup of coffee in the bigs last year, starting to prosper into the MLBer he was thought of having the potential to be during his days as a Phillies prospect

Jesse Litsch - out last year, but looked great in ST and has been very solid so far in the bigs. Only 26 years old. Could be a very good starter to have next season.

Kyle Lohse - We all know what he's capable of. After shitting the bed and dealing with injuries the past couple years, it looks like he's finally back on track of being a solid mid rotation starter again.

Phil Hughes - great break out season last year, still very young. Some concerns about his performance to start the season, but he added a couple ticks to his fastball from his first to second start (even though both starts were shit) sat around 89 mph in his first start, up to 92 in his second. His second half last year was a bit concerning as well, but keep in mind this is a young guy that never approached that many innings before. He just couldn't handle the work load. As he adds stamina, he should develop into a top of the rotation starter that can power through a whole 162 game season.

Zack Cozart - this is a guy I'm really excited to see when he makes it to the bigs. His bat was his question mark when he was drafted, but it's developed quite nicely through the minors and he absolutely raked in ST. The Reds think he can provide the defense Janish does at short, but bring a bigger stick. Dusty Baker said he's the guy he's most excited to see come up this season. This guy will be a nice short stop to have, and the only reason I'm thinking of dealing him is because I see Jose Iglesias as my future SS.

Like I said, I'm fine with not dealing anybody, but if I see an opportunity to improve my team, I'll take it.

Well, it seems people are only interested in Hughes, and with 3 crappy starts in a row, there's no way I'll get near his true value, so it's probably not worth inquiring about him... but...

I'll make Brett Lawrie and Mike Moustakas available. They're both 3b now, so I guess they're redundant. I'll keep 1 to play 3b for me, but if I can't get good value for either, I'll just use Mous as my DH.
