2011 Schedule/Update - Disc MIA

Post by Cardinals »

Still no word from DMB. And this is obviously going to cause a few problems since we'll be simming from behind and playing catch up.

Going to get this out immediately, injuries are going to remain the same policy. Our DL goes from Sunday - Saturday 11:59 PM EST, so if a guy is DL'd on Sunday, he's eligible for that week of simming. My team has a perfect example.

Evan Longoria was placed on the DL on Sunday. He will be eligible for the opening series and (Thurs-Sun) and the following week (Mon-Sat). This is exactly how it would happen if we were already simming now. Had Longoria been placed on the DL on Saturday, he could only play the opening series and then would be disabled for the coming week. Longoria will have to be disabled for the following week of sim games as per usual of course, and spend the mandatory 2 weeks on the IBC DL.

Once we do have the disc and have everything ready, I still plan on simming two games per day until we're caught up, then it'll be business as usual.

I know this complicates things, but is Netplay an option before we get caught up? It could be an administrative nightmare.

It will have to be completed in a quicker fashion most likely, though.

It would be great if someone has a chance this weekend to go and figure out who's going to be out for both weeks, week one, or week 2 so there's no confusion when we submit lineups. For instance looking at my own roster Bay and Ross are obviously out, Casilla went on on the DL yesterday so I can play him for the first two weeks and then he sits down or how does that work?

Treat the DL as if the database were on schedule. If Casilla went on the DL yesterday, he's eligible for the opening series (Thurs-Sun) and then the first week of play (Apr 4-10).

Casilla would then have to be disabled for the week with games starting April 11th. It's not that tough to figure out, just takes a little effort from everybody.

Tentative simming schedule:

I figure we'll just use our current rosters for the first database. The transaction cutoff will be 11:59 PM EST Saturday. I'll still update on Thursday.

So we'll have:

Monday - sim Thurs/Friday
Tuesday - sim Saturday/Sunday
Wednesday - sim Monday/Tuesday - DL UPDATE - new database out Tues. night
Thursday (4/14) - sim Wednesday/Thursday (4/7) - Transaction Update - new database out after the 4/7 games.
Friday - sim Friday/Saturday
Saturday - sim Sunday - to avoid confusion, just one here.
Sunday - sim Monday/Tuesday - DL Update
April 18 Monday - sim Wednesday/Thursday (4/14) - transaction update, new database out with the 4/14 games
April 19 Tuesday - sim Friday/Saturday
April 20 Wednesday - sim Sunday, again, just one here
April 21 Thursday - sim Monday/Tuesday (apr 18, 19) - DL Update
April 22 Friday - sim Wednesday/Thursday (apr 20, 21) - Transaction update
April 23 Saturday - sim Friday, Saturday (apr 22, 23)
April 24- Sunday, sim Sunday, April 24. (caught up)

April 25th, day of rest

April 26th, back on schedule.

For the DL update days, the database goes out after the Sunday sim games. I figure this is the most efficient way to get us caught up, and stay true to our schedule. A bit more work for me, but I should be able to handle it.

Yeah, that's contrary to what DMB had said. It's also being released V10- which is what we are using.

We were going to have to make the switch eventually. Might as well be now.

Friday has basically come and gone - and no disc from DMB.

Hoping they release it tomorrow still, but given how shady they are, who knows.

How will transactions work? For example, will you have Youkilis for game one or Vlad for the first week and a half?

I'll have Youkilis for opening day. It's much easier to put the current rosters in rather than backdate all the trades and free agent signings. Guess I should have explained that more, but it's the first sentence above the tentative schedule, which is still (hopefully) going to happen.

Also worth noting, Hamlin will get to use Ramirez until his retirement date as well.

** important note - the copy of the database I received has the DH/No DH settings reversed for AL and NL. You may need to change them in the organizer by going to the team tab and double clicking on the team and reselecting each one.
