Divisonal Balance

Post by Cardinals »

Bren told me to make a thread about this via email.

What if any concerns are there about it?

I am fine with everything as it is, though I do think it is a bit stinky that you have 4 Playoff teams when only 2 can make it- but the worst part about that is IMO, that TB is fucked forever. Theres no way with 4 powerhouses ahead of him that he will ever win more than 65 games. The NLC is also intimidating for whatever Pirates GM we have and tough on the rebuilding Brewers although he has some solid talent accumlated.

The NLC isn't that intimidating.

The ALE is good, but Bren and JB are going nowhere, and Dan and Pat have had plenty of chances to leave. If Bren wants to get into an easier division he needs to leave Boston, not try to wedge his competitors out of his division. :)

I think its more fun to have all those powerhouses in the same division. I don't think Tampa is necessarily fucked forever as long as he keeps going the prospect route, and I also if I must be completely honest don't believe that Baltimore truly qualifies as a powerhouse anymore. The NLC is by far the class of the National League, but I don't think it has the same cache it once did, as good as Aaron and Nate are I don't think either would compete with Bren/JB/Pat (and neither could handle the A's :D).

The NLW is closing FAST on the NLC.

I think the NL East (Sorry Jim) is by far the weakest division in the league.

there, I said it. There is NO way brandon should run away with it as he did. Im not convinced he's a bigtime playoff team in any other division.

psst... dan told me he wanted to leave the AL east

so i think we should at least try to come up with scenarios that make the most sense if people are going to move again.

I am fine - as is. Though if the chance ever came along I'd prefer to be the Pale Hose just 'cause!

Things will balance out. What Brandon is doing in the NLE is a one year deal. Among other things Ken will bring the Marlins back ...

I think Ken got booted from the DMB development team this year. I think it's totally fair for Dan to move out of the ALE, just not sure who it's fair to put in.
