For the past couple of weeks ExCo has been reviewing Dave's trade activity and looking back from the time of the minidraft to date and decided that he was no longer capable of competently running the Angels. It was a tough decision since Dave is a pretty good guy, but this was his second chance in the IBC, and really after the minidraft, his third different variation of a team that he's run into the ground. We've sent people packing for inactivity as it's seen as a detriment to the league, but consistently making horrendous trades can be seen as an even bigger detriment. It's always unfortunate when we have to remove somebody from the league, but it was time for Dave to go. He always winds up in prime draft position and then deals away his picks as well as his good young talent, so it's quite evident that he simply will never learn.

We now have two openings, both in the AL West. Do not expect any minidrafts, especially midseason. We will be looking for two new GM's, but I think I've got a good lead on one of them. Still, please let me or another member of ExCo know if you've got anybody in mind.

Does this mean we're getting rid of JB as well since his deals are too lopsided?

Nah, we're working on the West divisions. NL West is next.

I'm not a big Angels fan by any means, but I would consider relocating there in 2011 only because I know my top choices will NEVER be available.

Of course, if I'm wrong (following GM's), let me know:

#1 - Seattle / Ropers (lives there)
#2 - San Diego / Bren (suprise move)
#3 - San Francisco / Nils (never move now that his 'homie' is in NLW)
#4 - Oakland / Jake (lives there)

So, I'm guessing the Angels would be my only chance to ever move more West?

Of course if Bren wants to head to the bright lights of L.A., I'd be very happy moving to San Diego.

We've given teams many chances to move the past two offseasons. We'll look at it every offseason, but as always, teams who first join and don't get a chance to pick their location (i.e. Steve in Baltimore) will always have first choice when it comes to moving. Teams who are established and passed on the chance to move time and time again usually go to the back of the bus for this type of thing. Especially in May.

It has been standard operating procedure that if you want to move, it has to be for one of your favorite teams or because you've never been given the chance. Wanting to go to a team because it's more west is like wanting to be the Braves because you've flown through Atlanta before. So I'm going to go ahead and say don't hire moving vans Jag

Its a sad day in the IBC as one of my trading partners is no longer with us. Who wants to step in and fill the void left by this announcement?

Not that it matters, but just in case there is someone who does not know, "MY" team is the M's.

I was born in the Bay area and was a Giants (and A's) fan until the M's became a team in 1977, and still rooted for the Giants in the N.L.

Since 2002 when we moved to Oregon, I've became a Padres fan, with Eugene being their Northwest Club, and Portland being their AAA club.

So, my top choice will always be the M's, followed by the Padres, and the Bay area teams will always be a 'back up' to the first choices.

Bay Area=/= Anaheim.

Also, aren't the Angels and Mariners (and A's) rivals in the smaller AL West? It's like saying I live within 400 miles of Boston, NY, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C., therefore I should get to be one of those teams. If you just want the easier division, just say so. Bren had enough in the AL East and basically said as much. It's a lot less transparent.

After reading Jagger's email, it dawned on me that I should be able to claim all the teams I want to move to as well. As you can read below, I believe I am qualified to move wherever I want, whenever I want - so long as it's not the f**king Red Sox.

While everyone knows I grew up a Yankee fan, what most people don't know is the other teams I liked.

1980s:
In 1985, I got a Damaso Garcia card as a kid so I liked the Blue Jays. In 1986 the Mets played the Red Sox in the World Series so naturally I became a Mets fan. In 1987 I learned that Tony Gwynn shared a birthday with me, and thus became a Padres fan. Also in 1987, I realized that Mike Schmidt beared a slightly more than normal resemblance to my dad, so I lied when telling my friends that Schmidt was short for Schmidtski, and thus a Polish relative of ours - thus I became a Phillies fan. In 1988 I took a trip to Cincinnati to visit my best friends relatives, and caught a 7 homer Reds game - thus I became a Reds fan. In 1989, my family took a trip to LA to go to Chavez Ravine to watch a Dodgers game the year after their miraculous World Series win - it was World Series ring night, and thus I became a Dodgers fan.

1990s:
In 1990 we took a trip out to the Bay Area specifically for baseball, and caught an A's and Giants game - I was instantly hooked on both teams. In 1991, University of Hartford graduate and Herb's Sport Shop salesman Jeff Bagwell debuted for the Astros - I was hooked! In 1992 my dad went to the new Camden Yards and brought me back a t-shirt, I was hooked! In 1993, I was playing some AAU basketball and thinking I was a bit black - thus the colors of the Rockies and Marlins were awesome - and I asked for both's clothes for my birthday - got them, immediate huge fan! The again in 1998 two new teams entered baseball's landscape - the Rays and the D'Backs - who can't root for new blood - I was immediately hooked!

2000s:
2001 was a pretty big year. I became able to drink, thus became a HUGE Brewers fan. Also, that was the year of the debut of Ichiro - and thus I became a huge Mariners fan! In 2003 we visited my friend at Pitt - before we went out that night, we all purchased Pirates t-shirts from a thrift shop - all numbered from a little league team that gave them up - I won 9 consecutive beer pong games and hooked up with a Pitt cheerleader - thus becoming a HUGE Pirates fan! In 2004 I moved to Washington DC - and the Nats followed soon after in 2005 - I was hooked right away - and a HUGE fan to this day! In 2007, after moving from DC, I went to Chicago for NBA league meetings - while there we caught both a Cubs and White Sox game - HELLO - huge fan of both after! Also in 2007 I was deployed to Atlanta - the woman we hired to run Ticket Sales for the Dream had a husband who worked for the Braves - we sat 2 rows behind home plate for a game, and I've got to tell you - HUGE fan. 2008 was a big year for me and the AL Central. Bill Smith, Hamilton alum, became the GM of the Twins, so clearly I became a HUGE fan! I also moved to Erie PA, the home of the AA Tigers franchise - so in becoming a SeaWolves fan, I was also a Tigers fan! The Cavaliers were instrumental in helping me start the Erie D-League franchise, and thus they invited me up for a...Indians game - instantly became a huge fan! In 2009 I was in Austin, Texas while a Rangers game was on - I instantly fell head over heels for Nelson Cruz - and thus became a HUGE Rangers fan. In 2009 the Angels beat the Red Sox and lost to the Yankees - IN THE VERY SAME POST-SEASON - making me, of course, a HUGE fan! Just this spring I was talking to our grounds guy - he mentioned that he used to work for the Kansas City Royals - he said that he LOVED working there, and gave me a Royals shirt - I wear it EVERYWHERE, thus I'm a HUGE fan!

*sniff* Either Dave crapped himself when he got the boot or that's the load of shit that Jag is full of.

I'm not a fan of Dave getting the boot. Sure he was a Spork in a drawer full of Ginsu knives but the guy cared about being in the league and as bad as his teams were, he never quit being active. As I said to JP, having half the league be incompetent when we formed was what led to the imbalances in the league today, the damage Dave could do is pretty minimal at this point.

Anaheim was actually my first choice for leaving Boston (as JP knew at the time) but if staying in SD will annoy Jag a little bit, that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
