Hey guys, can I get a ruling on him so that I can use the roster spot if I'm not going to be able to keep him? Majority out of five seems fair to me.

As far as I can tell, the news reports have him signing with SF on 4/1, which would make him eligible (though the lack of disclosed terms makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable). I'd say that he's eligible, but in the future, I agree with your post, Brett, that we should just set a Jan 1 (or whatever) deadline for these players to have IBC eligibility.

Everything I've read has him signing on 4/1 or 4/2. Including a Spanish-sister newspaper in Miami which said
Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade rumors - yeah yeah I know it's a website but it's extremely accurate- has him signing on 4/1 or 4/2 as well with some spanish source as well. I just can't see anything to rule him ineligible.El Nuevo Herald, the Spanish language sister of The Miami Herald, reports the San Francisco Giants have signed Cuban P Reinier Roibal. No terms were disclosed.
