MVP of the IBC?

Post by Yankees »

How about the DH platoon of the Kansas City Royals?

Combined, the duo of Jim Thome (vs. rhp) and Josh Willingham (vs. lhp) have put up the following impressive group of stats:

.335 ba, .451 obp, .706 slg, 1.157 ops

221 ab, 74 h, 11 2b, 1 3b, 23 hr, 53 r, 58 rbi, 46 bb, 55 k, 1 hbp, 2 sb

For some perspective, that'd be:
T2nd in OBP
1st in SLG
1st in OPS
1st in HR
T4th in Runs
T3rd in RBI
5th in Walks

These guys have been HUGE in helping me be in 1st right now - and both are having very solid years in the MLB (Thome - .895 ops, Willingham - .905 ops), so it looks like the terrible fielding tandem will be back next year.

Any body have another tandem doing something similar? Or any other real successful platoons in the IBC?
