I've been quite busy the last week or so, and somewhat before that, so I need some help.

If you have anything that has not been tended to yet, please post either a link to the post or a quick posting about what needs to be done, so that I don't miss anything.

For instance, the Eric O'Flaherty debacle still needs to be straightened out for Brennan.

Also in the works are OOPSS upgrades needed:
Restrict roster size for waiver claims, trades.
Add ExCo, new TRC into mix.
Roster submissions from site going to right place.
Transaction list overhaul (could use some help here if anyone wants: a list of team switches-from where/to where-in the past 2 years would be great).
Overhaul front page, adding some needed information and removing some excess.
Player pages including historical stats.
Mailing list for boxes uploaded w/ subscription service.

I'd say, from my viewpoint, there wasn't a "debacle" and there isn't any more straighten that needs to be done.

Duplicates in the OOPSS system seem to come up every year when someone goes in and updates OOPSS with the new players in the new projection disk and again when the updates are added to the database in April.

Its one thing to not have a player on your roster in OOPSS at all, its another IMO when that player has been on your OOPSS roster for the past season but was overlooked when the two updates took place and someone created the duplicate.

I guess since you want to make this into a bigger issue than it is from my viewpoint, then you need to produce Bren's email that says that when someone goes in and updates the OOPSS system and creates the duplicate players, that the GM who has the current player on their roster will lose that player, if they don't recognize that someone created a duplicate during the update.

I mean really, considering how long it has taken in the past for GMs to get you to correct duplicate players, mispelling of player names and birthdates corrected in OOPSS, I find it odd that you are the one who seems to be trying to make this into a bigger issue than it is.

Sorry to have insulted you Brennan. I'm not making it into an issue at all. I call it a debacle because we went nearly 3 months without catching it and then Brett threw up a stink about it initially. I just have to move the old transactions from 0-O'Flaherty to O'Flaherty and then delete the 0-. Not sure of that was a dig at me with the "considering how long", but I have been doing my damn best to change all incorrect data, if I am notified of an incorrect birthdate it is usually fixed that day.

Also in the pipeline: player profiles with (possibly current) and old IBC stats and old/current projections.

You seem to be the only one who didn't think it was resolved. I can understand Brett's frustration having found another duplicate in OOPSS, but this obviously isn't the first time and I imagaine it won't be the last.

I think if Bren felt anything more needed to be said about the issue he would have said it in the O'Flaherty thread.

This thread is for work that needs to be done on OOPSS Brennan. You were the one that asked that the 0-O'Flaherty be removed (viewtopic.php?p=2077#2077), thus why it is listed in things I need to get to.

Uhm, I actually MISSED the O'Flaherty thread somehow...
But it seems to be resolved in that everyone knows who O'Flaherty belongs to, which is the important thing.
in the past, if a database was updated and GM's were missing players from their team and didn't notify me within a certain period of time, they'd ose the player. That's not quite what happened here. Any time we've had cases where a player was somehow owned by two gm's, someone would trace back the transactions to see which version existed first and that one was the rightful owner. That's what happened here.

If your intent was just to list house keeping items that needed to be attended to in the OOPSS system, I believe you'd probably have chosen words more to the affect of, "the duplicate 0-O'Flaherty still needs to be deleted from the OOPSS system".

Unfortunately it's not as simple as removing the duplicate 0-O'Flaherty. I go back and change all previous transactions so that they still show Eric O'Flaherty now instead of 0-O'Flaherty. That's why I didn't write the duplicate needs to be deleted, because it's more than one thing I have to do and I didn't want to dull you all with the details.

Anyways the duplicate O'Flaherty has now been deleted.
