DBacks release Eric Hull

The D'Backs would like to thank Eric and his contributions in the stretch run and playoffs.

After the trade he had a 2.61 ERA in 7 games (10.1 IP) with a save. Maybe he should have been used a little more vs the Reds in the playoffs?

DBacks release Gregorio Petit

The DBacks would also like to give a very special thank you to Gregorio for his amazing contributions. After the Reid Brignac injury there was thought that Erick Aybar would move to shortstop, but instead Arizona made a deal for Petit. All he did was solidified the shortstop position in the final 42 games, commiting just 5 errors, and hit a surprising .294 with a very important 15 runs and 16 RBI.

DBacks release Ryan Raburn

This is 'technically' called a release, but the DBacks are simply doing this move to allow Ryan to become a free agent and allow him the max amount of time to find a good situation (LOL).

Just like Hull and Petit, it's highly unlikely the DBacks make it to post seson without the contribution of Ryan Raburn. He came over before the deadline to platoon with Ian Stewart at 3B, and give some outfield help. Well, all he did was take over the fulltime 3B job and hit .333/.392/.570 in 44 games (114 AB's) with 7 doubles, 6 homers, 20 runs, and 26 RBI.

He also was off to a fast start in the first round of the playoffs, with 3 homers before the Cinci pitching staff started to concentrate on him.
