After Brett Myers threw an absolute gem yesterday (8.0 IP 10K 3H 2W 0ER) Gil Meche followed it up today with a nearly identical gem (7.0IP 10K 3H 2W 0ER). Since I acquired the pair at the end of July they have gone a combined 9-1 with a 2.02 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. Not bad. Factor in Shaun Marcum, who threw 7 shutout innings of his own today, lowering his season ERA to 3.42 and his WHIP to 1.16. Plus all 3 are under 30. Not a bad middle of the rotation for 2009.
