Los Gigantes

The Giants defense was just outstanding last night. They contained a totally healthy Portis on the ground, and forced Jason Campbell to beat them through the air - and blitzed effectively to make sure he was never totally comfortable. It was a great statement to the rest of the league.

The Giants running game is not going to be fun for opposing teams this year, either. Jacobs is a freak, Ward is a great backup - and the Giants didn't even use their most trusted back at the end of last year on a rush, Ahmad Bradshaw. Madison Hedgecock-block and the o-line were terrific, as usual.

Eli was Eli. Sensational in the first half, and a little off in the second - though the Giants focused on the ground game to kill time, knowing the Redskins offense would take a while to move the ball. Not really a good temperature test for him - but he did miss some passes in the second half that he didn't miss last postseason - but he also threw like 3 passes in the pre-season.

Either way, good start...

Very disappointing, I thought this was going to be a post about Omar Vizquel's hustle or Rich Aurilia's scrappiness.
