News: Dodgers SP prospect Scott Elbert has been shut down indefinitely at Double-A Jacksonville with a shoulder injury. He has not pitched since April 16. He is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA and 24 strikeouts through 14 innings.

Analysis: The Dodgers are being careful with one of their top pitching prospects. As you can see by his 24 strikeouts in 14 innings, the kid can pitch. The injury obviously delays his arrival to the majors, so he remains just a long-term keeper option at this time.
