Vacant Team Drafting
Any opposition to using the BA top 500 https://www.baseballamerica.com/ranking ... prospects/ instead of draft results for the two vacant teams?

Re: Vacant Team Drafting
Fine by me... let's get that out there ASAP so the teams coming up know.

Works for me ...
Re: Vacant Team Drafting
I think we're better off using their FYPD rankings.
Re: Vacant Team Drafting
The list JP referenced was the pre-draft rankings. It didn't have international players on it either.

Re: Vacant Team Drafting
It is kind of late in the process to make this decision. Which list did we use last season?
Re: Vacant Team Drafting
Ive been saying it for years. I think its kinda shitty to rule out like 40% of the player pool and also use a list that was before any draftees got to play any minor league games. It's a disservice to the new GMs.

Re: Vacant Team Drafting
We don't usually have vacancies, so none. And regardless of the timing, we have to use something.
I agree in not using pre-draft lists that don't include international FAs and the younger guys. Mine is dated. I like Jim's, but top 100 won't cover the whole draft.

Re: Vacant Team Drafting
The FYPD is only 100, fwiw, so we would have to use something else for 101-150

Re: Vacant Team Drafting
That list Jim posted. If we get through that list, then yeah can default to the draft 500.

Re: Vacant Team Drafting
Once we exhaust the FYPD top 100, we can default to draft results for those two teams. It's a bit of a frankenstein situation, but might be the best we can do.
Re: Vacant Team Drafting
Same here, let's role with it.
Re: Vacant Team Drafting
A vacant team is up now.
Re: Vacant Team Drafting
Guardians are one over the roster limit, soon to be two after pick 77. Then all picks after that will require a player be released.
Astros will need to release a player after each upcoming pick. Their next pick is 69.

Cleveland suggested drops:
Darion Blanco
Jair Camargo
Logan Driscoll
Brennan Milone
Houston suggested drops:
Eddy Alvarez
Keynan Middleton
Keegan Thompson
Matt Vierling
Re: Vacant Team Drafting
Middleton after 69, then Alvarez for Astros. I wouldn’t release Vierling.
Camargo now, then Driscoll after 77 for Guardians
