To my current OF starters not named Grady Sizemore, take a look in your rear-view mirror.
Brewers prospect Matt LaPorta went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI for Double-A Huntsville on Thursday.
LaPorta's first homer came off top prospect James McDonald and the second was against Yhency Brazoban, who had been lights out for Jacksonville. LaPorta is batting .301/.391/.630 with six homers and 22 RBI in 21 games.

Also #1 on the Hot Sheet today:
No. 1 MATT LaPORTA, LF
BREWERS
Team: Double-A Huntsville (Southern)
Age: 23
Why he's here: .429/.469/1.036, 12-for-28, 2 2B, 5 HR, 13 RBIs, 7 R, 2 BB, 4 SO
The Scoop: The University of Florida, Helena, West Virginia, Huntsville . . . LaPorta has hit for power wherever he's been. His incredible raw power and strong plate coverage have enabled him to lead all Southern League batters in home runs (six) and RBIs (22). To some, it seemed like the Brewers reached last year to grab the first basemanónow left fielderówith the seventh overall pick. But with a home run every 10.4 at-bats as a pro, it's hard to argue now with Milwaukee's selection. The last college hitter to make such a strong first impression with wood bats was Evan Longoria, but he was a relative slacker when compared with LaPorta. Longoria went deep only once every 16.7 at-bats in the minors through the 2007 season.
Going to be a lot of competition in the future years for my two corner OF spots... Another 07 Draft class member.
2007 first-round pick Jason Heyward hit his second and third homers for low Single-A Rome on Saturday.
The 18-year-old Heyward is batting .326/.370/.483 with seven steals in seven tries for Rome. All signs point to him becoming an impact player for the Braves, though he's a few years away.

UPDATE:
Double-A Huntsville's Matt LaPorta delivered his eighth and ninth homers and his eighth double on Thursday.
Hardly a day seems to go by in which LaPorta and Mat Gamel don't combine for two homers between them. If one of them has an off game, the other simply hits both himself. LaPorta is batting .319/.413/.725 with 30 RBI in 91 at-bats. Both homers on Thursday came off fellow top prospect Wade Davis.
He is pretty good.

UPDATE:
2007 first-round pick Matt LaPorta hit a pair of solo homers Monday for Double-A Huntsville.
LaPorta may not be the best hitter on his team, but he's still been one of the best in the minors while sporting a .298/.411/.617 line. He's up to 18 homers in 235 at-bats
Neftali Feliz allowed one run in five innings and struck out nine for low Single-A Clinton on Monday.
Feliz has been allowed to go six innings just once, but this is the fourth time in 13 starts that he's fanned at least eight. He's 5-2 with a 2.29 ERA, 43 H and 72/21 K/BB in 63 innings.
