Testing the Waters

Post by Yankees »

So 2022 is going to be quite the interesting year. My wife and I are expecting and the business is blowing up. I like where my team is at...but it's going to need some work that I'm not totally sure I'll have the time for come the baby in May-ish. I was challenged with just the business in the early part of last year to keep up with my team...I can't imagine what it's going to look like with the business scaling and an infant. Trading around the edges has put my team and prospects into a solid place...but I'm open to a potential full scale rebuild.

You'll note that Austin Riley and Luis Urias aren't listed. I'm planning on including them as part of the rebuild...but y'all know me. If you come for them, I'll listen...

Turning my attention to hitting prospects with the remaining assets (though will consider any good ones):

Luis Urias - big breakout year and great versatility for a 24-year old former top 20 prospect
Jose Suarez - MLB pitcher since 21 years old, only 23 had a tremendous year for the Angels
Jose Urquidy - 3 terrific MLB years now and finally got a little bit of SIM love...still only 26
Kyle Freeland - SIM has long liked him and he had a second straight strong season...should get a good SIM and still only 28
Eric Lauer - solid pitcher in his younger years, had an excellent breakout season for SDP and still just 26
Zach Eflin - secondary stats love him, SIM likes him, still just 27
Tony Kemp - 128 ops+ this past season will play well for his SIM
Dane Dunning - former top 100 prospect had a good MLB debut season, liked even more by secondaries
Ji-Man Choi - 116 ops+ and won't stop hitting and getting on-base
Yusei Kikuchi - 99 era+ SIM will absolutely be a good 4th/5th SIM starter
Sean Murphy - Top 100 prospect who has been solid in his MLB experiences, should SIM well
Jaime Barria - still starting, still just 24, still getting people out
J.P. Feyereisen - terrific season in the pen, SIM has always liked him
Austin Hays - hit to a 106 ops+, sim to a 106 ops+, he's a terrific 4th of in the SIM
Yadiel Hernandez - dude can hit, should SIM well
Kevin Newman - SIM doesn't hate him, good flexibility
Tomas Nido - good backup C
Dom Nunez - good backup C
Josh Sborz - good breakout RP candidate
Jonathan Villar - will be a great SIM bench piece after another 100+ ops+ season
Donnie Walton - got a fantastic, usable SIM
Yermin 0-Mercedes - not a sim disaster defensively, good ops+
Jordan 16-Sheffield - great breakout RP season before injury

Eflin with a 107 era+.

Suarez at 100 era+ and trending way up.

Freeland looks like he'll roll in at ~105-110 era+.

Urquidy 101 era+ and trending way up.

All available...as well as the rest above.
