Head to Head schedule

Post by Cardinals »

Since we are now having databases twice a week, Sunday and Thursday, the head to head rules have slightly changed.

Instead of being able to play (rarely happened, but still) your upcoming weekends games on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday prior to, please wait until the Thursday database to play those games. The Thursday database will be used for games Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the Sunday database will be used for games Monday through Thursday.

Example:

Yesterday's database I sent out, feel free to play any of your games up through Thursday[Thursday inclusive]. You may not play this weekends games with the current database.

Once Thursday's database rolls around, then you may play your weekend games. Do not play games past Sunday with the Thursday database.

There are a couple of reasons for this. One, it'll make H2H'ing a lot simpler, and you won't have to strain your brain about which pitchers to use. Secondly, this is to prevent pitcher usage abuse, which is very possible using the system we currently have.

Does Thursday's dbase also include transactions?

Because if it doesn't, then if you've already played your Mon-Wed games, it really wouldnt matter if you decide to knock out your weekend games as well, because pitching abuse would no longer be an option.

Thursday's database includes transactions. You can play your Thursday game with the Sunday database. Through Thursday means including Thursday, so Mon-Thur can be played off of Sunday's database. a few people have asked me about that so I clarify once again.

It's moreso meant to keep people from playing their games out of order as well. Some people might play their Fri- Sun, then have the computer sim Mon-Thur. The pitching usage would then be fucked up and you would have somebody potentially pitching way more often than they should.

But it's moot anyway since Thursday's database will include transactions, yes.

Also, not that it's a huge deal, but when you send in your H2H games, remember to CC the opponent and have the opponent confirm the game. I think that's how it's supposed to be done, or how we did it last year, not sure if that's in the rules or anything.
