Clutch Rating
Clutch Rating
Can someone explain to me how they do the "Clutch Rating" on DMB. It seems like most superstars get the TERROR rating like AROD,WRIGHT,PUJOLS etc. However some players like Brad Hawpe, and Nick Markakis got it but not Ryan Howard or Derek Jeter who arguably is one of the greatest 9th inning hitters ever.

Good question, I'd assume DMB put about as much time into analyzing their "clutch" ratings as they did the rest of the SIM this season.
Kind of like how they gave Chipper Jones an "AV" range rating at SS this season after he played 7 innings of SS last sesaon. Nothing against Chipper Jones, but the dude ain't a SS and doesn't have average range at SS.

It was posted on the message boards of DMB by somebody with the company that the SS rating should be deleted.Mariners wrote:Brewers wrote:Can someone explain to me how they do the "Clutch Rating" on DMB. Having said that, it was there and is there. Zalaski presumably dealt his SS because of this and I do not think it would be right to make him pay for DMB's gaffe.

Agreed, I don't think we should change it after the season has started, as well, but it is just another example of the poor product that DMB put out this season. Hopefully things improve with BP involved now.Pirates wrote:It was posted on the message boards of DMB by somebody with the company that the SS rating should be deleted.Mariners wrote:Brewers wrote:Can someone explain to me how they do the "Clutch Rating" on DMB. This is projection....so who knows what could happen. If DMB projected someone to play a position then they still have 158 games to do so. Let's not bitch about it until after the season, when we know for sure that it didn't happen.
