Beat the Streak

Post by Dodgers »

I think Bren advertised Beat the Streak, your chance to top DiMaggio's 56 game streak at the end of last year.

It's back again and this time it's $100,000 if you manage to do it. The best of all time for the game is 43.

I'd be interested in the odds of winning this. 100k seems a little weak as a grand prize for how nearly impossible it has to be.

Well, considering it's unlikely you pick any hitter who hits less than .290 and there aren't any above .340, average of 3.3(?) at-bats a game, is it 1 in (3*.320)^56 ? I'm not positive, just a guess.

All I know is, Albert Pujols/David Ortiz/Vlad Guerrero/Bobby Abreu, bring it on!
