Jake's Arbitrary Playoff Predictions

Post by Giants »

AL East - Yankees (Come on, really. No point in arguing)
AL Central - Tigers (Brett P. built his team "the right way" whatever that means, here comes some SIM Karma).
AL West - Athletics (Like I was going to pick anyone else).
AL Wild Card - Red Sox (I personally found Bren winning 100 games and missing the playoffs tremendously entertaining, but he has the pitching and Pat is missing the venerable #25, which I think makes up the difference).

NL East - Marlins (Dan is one stupid fuck if he gave up the DH and still can't win this division).
NL Central - Reds (Just hope no one gets hurt, and another fuck you for trading Papelbon to the Yankees).
NL West - Padres (As long as they can hit at Petco this team out-talents the rest of the division).
NL Wild Card - Cardinals (Pitching, pitching, pitching, oh yeah and healthy pitching too).

AL Playoffs

ALDS

A's over Yankees in 4 (I'm an equal opportunity closer destroyer, take one from Papelbon, one from Rivera, and one from Ryan).
Red Sox over Tigers in 5(Too much pitching)

ALCS

A's over Red Sox in 4 (Just like McCain is going to beat Obama)

NL Playoffs

Reds over Padres in 4 (Vlad chokes his way through the series but the rest of the lineup pounds away at the Padres).
Marlins over Cardinals in 3 (Dan takes out his pent up AL East 4th place finishes on Aaron)

NLCS

Marlins over Reds in 7 (This would be a fun series, I figure a crazy ending like Ortiz makes an error at first in the top of the ninth to let the tying run in, then hits the series winning homer in the bottom of the ninth)

World Series

Athletics over Marlins in 7 (We go three man rotation, and finish 3-0 in Dan Haren starts, win another game by having Huston Street come in the 4th and pitch 5 innings. Am I trying to say I'm not confident in my rotation? Not at all).

Harden's fine in April. He'll have a strong first half then get hurt in July right before the A's can trade him.

How about right after they trade him to the Yankees?
