Your roster's core
Due to some interest after my comment in JP's forum, list your team's "core" here. I'm thinking your top 10 players based on how you value them.
Mine:
1. Miguel Cabrera
2. Prince Fielder
3. Chase Utley
4. Yovani Gallardo
5. Alex Gordon
6. Matt Holliday
7. Phil Hughes
8. Stephen Drew
9. Jeremy Hermida
10. Jamie Shields

1. David Wright - 3B

4. Matt Cain - SP
5. Roy Halladay - SP
6. Ichiro Suzuki - CF
7. Francisco Rodriguez - CL
8. Vlad Guerrero - RF
9. Jim Thome - 1B
10. Hiroki Kuroda - SP
heh.. you could also argue every position on the diamond except 2b for my squad, then halladay/cain/krod. I put Kuroda at 10 right now, because a lot of my success is going to hinge on his performance/projection.

5. Carl Crawford, LF
6. Aramis Ramirez, 3B

If Gio Gonzalez logs some big league innings this year, I'd probably bump him ahead of Kinsler.

Not necessarily the best players on my team, but the ones I consider to be the franchise identity this year and beyond.
1. John Maine
2. Oliver Perez
3. Freddy Sanchez
4. Kenji Johjima
5. Jeremy Accardo
6. Jeremy Hellickson*
7. Paul Konerko
8. Shuan Marcum
9. Jack Wilson
10. Shawn Hill
Not allstars, but solid baseball players that will win games.

Well, five months later:
Lincecum
McCann
Braun
Oswalt
Bailey
Fowler
Moustakas
Andrus
Elbert
Revere
Last few are prospects that I'm all extremely high on, but if I had to throw some MLB'ers in the mix, Cantu and his resurgence would certainly merit mention and Saltalamacchia despite his struggles is in there. The only reason he's not in the top 10 of the "core" is because he's blocked by McCann, but that's A-OK.
