Bonds playing in '08 might be ever so slightly optimistic...

Yeah, I think you have to bet against him playing next season. It's really hard to see anyone touching him at this point, plus he'll have legal issues to worry about anyway it looks like.
Fortunately for Toronto, he can just let it work himself out. It's not like he has to risk anything, and he's got about three DHs anyway.

No doubt, it would suck to lose that particular bat out of the lineup though.

1) David Dejesus CF .260/.351/.722
2) Shannon Stewart LF .290/.345/.739

4) Dmitri Young DH .320/.378/.869
5) JJ Hardy SS .277/.323/.786

Ramon Hernandez C .258/.333/.714

unfortunately the lineup is built around guys who i think will put in much better 2008s than they did 2007s.

Could probably use some rearranging but...
Lineup
1. SS - Orlando Cabrera - .301/.345/.397
2. LF - Travis Buck - .288/.377/.474
3. 3B - Mike Lowell - .324/.378/.501
4. 1B - Nick Johnson - .290/.428/.520 (2006)
5. CF - Torii Hunter - .287/.334/.505
6. 2B - Brendan Harris - .286/.343/.434
7. RF - Melky Cabrera - .273/.327/.391
8. C - Chris Iannetta .218/.330/.350

As of today the IBC Mets would go with:
CF: Chris Denorfia - .283/.356/.368 (2006)
LF: Norris Hopper/ Nate Schierholtz* - .329/.371/.388 or .304/.316/.402
SS: Jimmy Rollins** - .296/.344/.531
1B: Joey Votto* - .321/.360/.548
RF: Delmon Young - .288/.316/.408
3B: Joe Crede - .262/.306/.458 (3 yr. split)
2B: Danny Richar* - .230/.289/.406 and .305/.365/.505 (AAA)
.C: Ramon Castro - .282/.324/.534
For DH I believe I would use Delmon Young against LHP (I know, he "sucks") and put in a better defensive OF, likely Carlos Gomez - 232/.288/.304 and .286/.363/.414 (AAA), moving Denorfia over to RF. However if I were playing in a HR prone park against RHP, like US Celluar, I would probably DH Nate Gold - 292/.347/.516 w/ 26 HRs (AAA) leaving Young in RF. Against RHP I would likely DH Brandon Moss - .280/.379/.440 and .282/.363/.471 (AAA).

Bonds playing in '08 might be ever so slightly optimistic...
The glass is always half-full. I have some manueverability with Reynolds being able to play left, Escobar can handle 3B or maybe even Koskie and Justin Ruggiano should have a decent projection. Losing Bonds for a while will hurt but I don't see it costing me more than 20-30 runs.

Not to play mr. negative, but given Bonds' age, lack of defensive abilities and the indictment... Bonds' career is probably over.

MLB even issued a statement basically saying they aren't considering suspending him because they expect his career to be over. If a team were to get serious about signing Bonds (and at this point who really makes sense? The A's and Giants are the only teams you could even begin to make a case for it happening realistically) you would hear from the commissioner and there would be repercussions. Bonds is finished.

Quick scroll yielded 26 rosters. About the same turnout as what I've seen from most league polls. Perhaps time to mock up the missing rosters?

I'm going to give it to this weekend, work on it Saturday, and Sunday during the games, and have it posted Sunday night...
I'm happy with the turnout...but I'd like to see the other 4 posted - really shouldn't take up any time...
