Not only that but the Tigers would have to beat a Sooner squad that they lost to earlier in the season ...)
At the half, however,
Texas Tech is beating OU ...
Hell yeah. To hell with OU.

For being considered the team's biggest weakness, the WVU defense is doing a pretty good job against one of the better scoring offenses in the country.

How pissed is other Jake going to be when West Virginia takes home the National Title. As messed up as this year has been I hope Hawaii is the team they face, now that would be a fun game.

New AP rankings are out... nice to see UC hanging in the top 25 after their loss. WV went as far as they could go, there's no justification for putting them ahead of Kansas or Missouri.
Yet.
1. LSU (60) 10-1 1,619
2. Kansas (3) 11-0 1,541
3. Missouri (1) 10-1 1,469
4. West Virginia (1) 9-1 1,457
5. Ohio State 11-1 1,341
6. Georgia 9-2 1,246

Note.. US Today put WVU 3rd ahead of Missouri. They're basically giving WVU the benefit of the doubt saying the Big East is stronger than the Big 12

Mizzou'll be #2 after this weekend

And then Oklahoma will knock them off in the Big 12 Championship game. I think Oklahoma beats either Kansas or Missouri, and if that happens than the Big East owes Texas Tech for its conference legitimacy.

OU is still up. However, if Oklahoma State beats them this weekend and Texas wins, Texas would take the Big 12 South. If OSU wins and UT loses (God forbid), then OSU would be the Big 12 South Champs.
In short, go OSU and
HOOK 'EM HORNS.

the only reason WVU and OSU are at a disadvantage is that they dont play a championship game. In past years teams that have played championship games have been known to jump teams that dont. which is another reason why every conference should play one.

The NCAA requires that you have at least 12 teams to hold a title game, so the Pac-10, BigTen and Big East aren't allowed to have one right now.

In which case the title games shouldn't count towards the BCS rankings if the NCAA won't let certain conferences hold them.

you right but then people would complain after a team is ranked 2nd and loses and then doesnt drop. There will never be a win\win situation in college football. 4 team playoff would still be pretty fair here. Right now it would be 1.LSU vs 4. Mizzou and 2.Kansas vs 3.WVU but if Kansas or mizzou wins out i dont think anyone would complain cause it would be 1.LSU vs 4.OSU and 2.Kansas vs 3. WVU which covers all the teams people think are national championship worthy

UC is 20?

UConn is 20. UC is 24. My guess is that if UConn gets absolutely blown out at WVU, they drop out altogether. If they keep it somewhat close and still lose, I bet they could finish the season as #24 or 25, which would be a huge win for the program.

LSU's national title hopes were crushed by a Heisman-worthy performance.
Darren McFadden rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another to lift Arkansas to a 50-48, three-overtime victory over the top-ranked Tigers on Friday.
... By knocking off LSU, which was in first place in the BCS standings, Arkansas
boosted the national championship hopes of West Virginia and [the] Ohio State [University].
... The winner of tomorrow night's game between No. 2 Kansas and No. 3 Missouri will likely take over the top spot in the rankings and the BCS standings. No. 4 West Virginia, which was third in the BCS standings, has a chance to sneak up to at least No. 2 in each with a win over Connecticut.

Now I am actually hoping OU wins the Big 12 so the Buckeyes do get in the BCS Chamionship Game. WV and Ohio are neighbors ya' know ...
