The place to come to talk about all things IBC related. Or not IBC related. Just keep it reasonably respectful.

It's doable if you submit rosters more frequently.

Hard to submit rosters more frequently with once-a-week databases....not a complaint, just saying...It's a challenge to set a rotation without all the most current games loaded in to my personal DMB, and if a day or two gets missed, and 3 games are simmed at the same time to catch up, it's completely impossible.

We're working on setting it up so that the database will be downloadable from the league website so it will get uploaded every day with the boxes.
That said, you don't need an uptodate database with every new game in it to submit a new roster. As long as the players on the roster are the same, it will work fine. it ook roster updates every day of the week that people were willing to send them in last season and as long as they didn't screw with their roster (i.e. add/drop/trade anyone) it worked just fine.

I'm shocked that I havent heard about any phpBB servers blowing up yet with all the awesome features this website has.

Speak for yourself. I check my players stats & usage daily, and like to play particular matchups a lot.

If a player performs poorly, I like to look at his usage to see if he's possibly fatigued.

Unless OOPSS displays players usage, updated daily, I'll be at a disadvantage with my prefered management style.

Just an extra challenge for me.

Do boxes show you how many pitches a RP has thrown over the last 7 days?

A downloadable DB would solve a lot of problems, and increase my teams win total by 3-4 wins, guaranteed.

RedSox wrote:Those discussions have already come underway in ExCo when there was some concern that we wouldn't have a disk at all for this season. Obviously there's a lot less urgency now to that issue, but there are some idea out there. IMO, PECOTA is the strongest projection system out there. Unfortauntely it's also not offered on a projection disk currently so we may have to either look at another system or a way to automate importing PECOTA into a DMB season.
OOTP is always an option. It is much more liberal than DMB with respect to custom league operations and importing custom DB's. We could use any set of projections we like, or even a combination of projections, that could then be imported through a DB into the game. The results we've had initially with OOTP in another league have been pretty favorable. I know some people that have close ties with the DMB community (Mr. Tippett), and they are the same people that influenced a switch away from DMB a year ago for one of my other leagues. I think DMB's days are numbered, at least with respect to the way we use it in this league.

I got my shitty team last year to win 87 games, and was one blown save away from winning the division.

If there was moderate interest in more than 4 days history, it's probably something I could do. I'm planning on bringing a lot of this into OOPSS this year--taking the box scores and pulling out a lot of statistics on a game-by-game basis.

Does anyone know how long it takes them to email projections once you drop the $30? I just ordered the 2008 proj. disk, but it doesn't seem like DMB has a seamless automated system to immediately process my order. Anyone else have email delivery?

Ah. Thanks. The dead silence tonight on this and the LWNN board scared me into thinking the rest of the DMB world was already having at the 08 disk.
