Odubel Herrera, and others

Post by Angels »

As we creep closer to the trading deadline, I’m going to make a few guys available:

Odubel Herrera
The 24-year-old All-Star CF is having another great year on a bad team, both in MLB and in IBC. He’s slashing .284/.364/.417 with a dozen homers and 19 steals for the Phillies, and his walks are up and his strikeouts are down. And in IBC, he’s followed up his Rookie of the Year campaign by slashing an even better .298/.344/.412 with 24 SBs as my leadoff hitter. He’s a VG baserunner who’s scored 67 runs despite the crappy offense behind him. Defensively, he’s rated VG in both LF and CF, and also still carries 2B eligibility (Fr) should you need it. I’d like a young SP plus another good prospect/draft pick. If I don’t get that, I’m very happy to keep him and build around him.

Jett Bandy
The 26-year-old has emerged as the Angels’ starting catcher, and early indications are that he’s a pretty good one. He’s slashing .267/.320/.473 for the Halos, with 7 homers in just 43 games. He’s also thrown out 46% of would-be base stealers. I’d like a decent prospect or pick in exchange for what ought to be a solid projection next season. Again, happy to keep him as my regular C until my tandem of Francisco Mejia/Nick Ciuffo is ready.

Whit Merrifield
The 27-year-old has been solid in a utility role for the Royals, slashing .271/.305/.381, and he’s had similar numbers after a roster squeeze sent him back to Triple-A short-term. He’s an excellent base stealer and versatile defender who will also have a role in someone’s offense. He’s hit really well for me in IBC (.280/.327/.380) as my regular second baseman, including a .302 clip against righties. He’s rated as a VG baserunner and has a defensive rating at every position but P and C, including VG as left fielder. He’s really an ideal bench or platoon piece for someone. Looking for a prospect or pick in exchange.

Tyler Saladino
The 26-year-old is a scrappy utility player for the White Sox and is slashing .262/.298/.396 with some pop in his bat and 9 steals. He’s a ballplayer. He’s played all seven INF and OF positions and is an excellent defensive shortstop. In IBC, he’s rated VG at 1B and 2B and AV at 3B and LF, and he’s a VG base stealer and EX base runner. I’d like a prospect or pick.

Sean Gilmartin
He’s not having much of season in real life, but the 26-year-old lefty reliever does carry a decent projection (3.46 ERA with about a K per IP). And he’s exceeded that in the sim (2.56 ERA, 8 saves, 2:1 K:BB). Could be a nice lefty in your bullpen for the rest of the season. Would take only a draft pick.

Willing to discuss other guys as well, if there’s an interest and a deal to be had. PM is the best way to reach me.
