Liriano still available

Post by Mariners »

Really, really, really frustrated.

I just spent over an hour making a post with all the contending teams rotations, and where Francisco Liriano's projection fit within all those rotations.

My computer is a POS (and not even that old) so I kept having to click 'Website recovery', and the last time it did not recover and I lost my work.

So, long story short, outside of the Tigers & Phillies, Liriano's projection fit anywhere from Ace > #3 in comparison to contending teams other starters.

Bottom line, I'm a bit surprised more teams have not tried a little harder in regards to possibly acquiring a rotation asset for the stretch run & playoffs (sans the Cards, who tried a tad).

Liriano is not having a good year, but will still have a 2017 projection that will fit into 99% of teams rotations, offering more than a 'rent-a-pitcher'.

LH Liriano's projection - 3.19 ERA, 175 K's > 166.1 IP (9.5 K9) 114 ERA+, .223 BAA, 1.23 WHIP, 3.4 RC27

Sorry Steven, yes. I had just typed Fernandez' 3.0 RC/27 in the top spot when my POS did it's thing for the final time.

No worries, I feel your pain. Liriano would be a useful piece to have, I'm sure somebody will have interest.

I do understand when you mix in yours & the other stud rotations, those who gave up to soon (just teasing Brett Z), and those who wished they had more attractive players to trade, the interest in Liriano is still there, but options limited.

The likelihood is he will be back in the Dbacks mix in '17, but is there if a team needs him enough.

Next year I have Cole, Bundy, and Taillon...only took 3 years longer than planned but $#*! happens. Hopefully all three of them are ahead of Liriano.

I would add him to the mix for next year if you get desperate to move him - but he's not worth buying for this years projection. He'd help a contender more this year.
