Jorge Alfaro

I'm feeling good about Yan Gomes at only 27 and having put together a couple solid seasons. So, I'm going to see what the interest is in Jorge Alfaro. I've had most people I chat with ask about him, but I've been hesitant to deal him.

The 21-year-old top prospect in the Rangers' system had a respectable 100 games in the A+ Carolina League, putting up a line of .261/.318/.440 with 16 HR 73 RBI 63 R and 6 SB. He was promoted to AA and in 8 games (38 pa), he's doing: .281/.395/.563 with 3 HR 8 RBI 5 R. AA has been a more comfortable setting as he continues working on his receiving skills.

Anyway, I'm just testing the waters to see what the market is. If I can get a young player that helps me this year, I'll listen. I would also be interested in picking up a young catcher on the way back, if that fits with the other team.
