Pieces for People Who Don't Suck as Bad as Me

Post by Yankees »

Looking for prospects of all shapes and sizes.

Scott Kazmir - 4.04 sim era, 1.30 whip...2.20 era, 0.98 whip in real life

Erik Bedard - We know who he is, but he does sport a 4.24 era and 1.39 whip in the SIM.

Nick Ahmed - VG rating at SS, tearing up AAA with the bat

Robbie Grossman - .321 sim OBP is useful...so is his ability to play 3 of positions. Actually started hitting a little since his recall from AAA.

Steve Lombardozzi - Can hit, and has at AAA/MLB...also a pretty decent sim.

JD Martinez - Having a good run at the MLB level after crushing AAA. Would be interesting to see him given more extensive AB's.

Sean Rodriguez - Decent SIM, great pop at MLB level this year...just can't get consistent ab's. #FreeSeanRodriguez

Collin McHugh - 2.82 era, 1.03 whip in the SIM...last rough start had some to do with a pretty ugly blister. He's throwing tonight if you want to do some advanced scouting.

Kazmir went 6 ip's with 3 h's last night to lower his ERA to 2.05 on the year. His 3 bb's did help raise his whip from 0.98small to 0.98slightlybigger. I've had a few offers and on-going conversations about him, but he looks relentless.

JD Martinez went 2-5 with a double last night, and continues to hit every time he's put in the lineup. .791 ops on the season.

Nick Ahmed went 4-5 at AAA last night and raised his slash line to .323/.397/.418. He's one of the best defensive shortstops in the minors, and he could be insanely valuable in the SIM next year if he hits anywhere near this. He'd be an MLBer everywhere they didn't just call up a rookie SS.

J.D. Martinez went 3-4 tonight with a double. His slash line is up to .290/.326/.516, and has started or seen significant (3 or more) plate appearances for the last week (since 6/12).

I'm going to keep posting as long as he keeps doing this...sorry.

Not that he needed that drumroll, but JD Martinez went 2-4 with that homer...and is now slashing .299/.333/.546.

He won't be 27 until late August.

What? No countdown today?

J.D. Martinez went 1-3 today with another bomb today. His slash line is now .300/.333/.570.

Kazmir & McHugh on the bump tonight.

Fine...no more Martinez today.

McHugh went 6 ip's, 6 k's, 0 er's, and only 7 base runners. He sits at 2.76 era, 1.09 whip on the year.

And assuming 111 pitches will do it, Kaz went 7 ip's, 4 h's, 0 bb's, & 8 k's. He's now at a 2.08 era and 0.95 whip. He also sat consistently at 93-94, topping out at 96. Given he sucked, vanished, pitched ok and got a good sim...he'll be a stud next year.

I'm looking to package Kaz/J.D. Martinez for the best pitching prospect offered. The deal can certainly get more complex...but the more straightforward the better.

The majority of this list has been wiped out via trade. The rest I'm going to hold off on until the deadline. Will that mean I'll stop trading? Course not. Does that mean the JD Martinez dailies will stop? Maybe... :)

Even though he's not on my team, it's not like I want him to fall off...so...sorry guys...keeping on until the hitting streak ends.

J.D. Martinez went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He's up to .314/.346/.619. If you throw him strikes, he's going to hit it. That's 13 games in a row. He's slashing .361/.365/.770 in June, giving a good run to Player of the Month.

Maybe somebody will figure out that you don't have to throw him strikes to get him out.

They didn't figure that out last night. J.D. Martinez went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The home run was an absolutely f**king laser beam the opposite way. He's at .320/.356/.648 on the season, and sporting a 14 game hitting streak.
