Dipping my toe in the water to see what Stephen Strasburg would bring back in a trade.
What I'm looking for is to trade Strasburg for a similar age, similar value offense player.
Please do not offer a package of prospects unless you are willing to give up a Buxton or a Baez + a lot. Don't offer me a package of C+, B prospects.
Please do not offer me a package of anything unless it is a disgusting overpay. I don't want 4 mediocre prospects or players because their WAR adds up to Strasburg. The guy that gets the most players usually loses the trade.
If you are interested, please come with an offer in hand. If you ask me what I want for him, my response is a lot.

Wow. This seems so very appealing. So you're saying I have to vastly overpay and am not likely to get so much as a counter-offer? Sign me up! I gotta get in on this before he finally cracks 200 IP and immediately blows out his arm.

Sorry. Couldn't resist. I just don't get trade posts like this. If you want to move a guy, offer him around for what you think is a fair price. If someone doesn't like your offer, so what? Maybe they'll have the stones to make a counter-offer. Who knows? You might even get what you want. Stephen Strasburg is a very nice young pitcher and I'm sure he'll have a long and illustrious career. :{|
