Pissing contest for distance?

I know the MLB would have a three way coin flip where the two losers would play each other in a one-game playoff and the winner of that game plays the winner of the coin flip in a one-game playoff for the spot, this issue came up a couple of years ago when at one point there were like 6 teams within a game of the NL wild card.

There's a webcam built into my laptop, I could televise the coin flip as well, the more I think about it the more I love the idea.

Scenario #4 is what we could have. Looks like only need a coin flip if 2nd and 3rd place tie (to determine site of playoff).

Looks like Scenario #4 applies to a situation with only one playoff spot available, we'll have two.

No, their example is misleading I think. At least I interpreted the bold to mean there could be 2 playoff spots available.
