Appears to have been playing this month......but was put on the DL in the MLB on August 3rd.

A's GM Billy Bean, today said Chavez may be shut down for the season, though that may be a mute point in the IBC with the penalty.

Chavez has been Deactivated. he will miss an additional 30 days on top of his original alotted DL time.
DL penalties carry over from Year to Year and when players are traded (but not from minidrafts).
