Josh Hamilton Appeal

Post by Cardinals »

Nils is appealing ExCo's decision and wants to play Josh Hamilton in the NLCS. Vote on whether you think Hamilton should be eligible.

So glad I was able to state my case before everyone voted.

Seriously? First you ask me to have ExCo look at everything again after Levine made his thread. Then you ask me a few days ago to make a league appeal vote and I said I would either before or after my class on Friday- wound up taking me until Sunday because I forgot and was busy Friday and Saturday. So you knew when I was setting up the poll, had the entire other thread to bitch, had extra time to send or write something but didn't.

No Offense but would stating your case really sway that many voters? We can take a poll on that probably.

It probably would have made no difference, but it's just the idea of it. This original post made it sound like I didnt want him benched at all in the first place. But, my issue was not that but that in the article about shutting him down for the year it mentioned he was going to rest for a few weeks, then start his normal offseason routine. My point was should I have to sit a guy who is starting his normal offseason routine? A guy who arguably could have played til the end of the season as a pinch hitter if his team had been in the race.

I dont want a revote or anything like that, I just dont think this was handled all that well. Almost came across like a "he's bitching, let's jsut vote him down to make this go away" kind of thing instead of actually taken seriously.

While it wouldn't likely have made a difference, it's been SOP with similar polls in the past to allow each side to formay state their case so that those of us who maybe weren't familiar with the argument or who didn't want to read the occasionally vitriolic threads that precede such votes could read a perspective on the matter from each side.

That said, if it had been me in Nils' place, i'd have included a "perspective piece" with my request for the vote.
