As a Sox fan, there are very few things that could make me happier than Tim getting the nod to go to the ASG. This guy has meant so much to the Sox and been everything everyone has asked of him. This is his 15th season in Boston and there aren't many players that Boston fans are as genuinely fond of as Tim Wakefield. Some people may say he doesn't deserve it... I don't care, I'm happy for him.
He's also got to be one of the oldest first time all-stars ever.
Tim Wakefield, All-Star
That was an awesome pick. Speaking of awesome picks, like they say in New Orleans vote early and vote often for the Kung Fu Panda Pablo Sandoval in the race for the last member of the team.

That argument might fly except that Sandoval plays third base, where only Ryan Zimmerman backs up David Wright. Plus he can catch, and the NL only has Yadier and McCann behind the plate, so he's "there's no tying in baseball" insurance. That being said, if Ibanez doesn't play there's a spot for both guys. Victorino is certainly having a nice year, but Sandoval has 100 points of OPS on him and he's killing him in the lovable nickname department. He's also carrying the offense of the team with the second best record in the national league. I grant that says more about the NL than it does about the Giants, but Victorino is at best the 4th best bat in his own lineup while Sandoval is by far the best in his.
