Sammy Sosa is one of the 104 major league players who tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance in 2003, the New York Times reported, citing lawyers who have knowledge of the drug-testing results from that year.

I can't argue a positive test. Cheating is cheating. But the man, along with my Grandpa, made me fall in love with baseball so I'm not going to start bashing him. I'm also not gonna pretend that I didn't love seeing him, Mac, and all the others hit those HRs. Everyone did. I'm just not two-faced enough to act self-righteous about those guys now. They did what we all knew they were doing. They did what every writer who covered them knew what they were doing. I'm not gonna act surprised and superior now. Others can have fun engaging in that.

It's the corked bat that puts him over the top for me. But I do agree to an extent with you. I'm pretty much disgusted how MLB, Selig et al praised Mac and Sosa as they revive the game and gave everybody a summer to remember and then throw them under the bus. I've said that plenty of times before though.

Also, for all the shit Mac took at those hearings, he sure came out looking ok now in retrospect compared to Raffy, Clemens, et al..
