No, JP knows very well that I was opposed to this change and I didn't harp on him about it after he and I discussed it because he asserted that there would be a public discussion before a rule change was made.
And you ought to know better to push through a rule change without a public discussion.
I'm sure it's a lot easier to just insist that I'm being a pain in the ass than to admit you're wrong, but the ExCo made a rule change without any public discussion or any vote whatsoever. Are you going to insist there's nothing wrong with that?

For goodness sakes, the draft start date isn't a rule, and setting a start date other than what you've preordained in your head isn't a rule change. As you said about yourself and the past, it's something that we try to set each season so that it works best for all of the guys and the league. Obviously, if there is a big problem with the date and we can't all come to a consensus, we would have to vote. I don't get the feeling that it will be the case here. But that is why JP started the thread and actually said, if there were big problems we'd figure something out. Why does anything you get involved in have to be a fight?
As far as the "untimed" start, if that's what you're referring to as a rule change, that is one thing that I think all 29 of us can agree on and pretty much did when we discussed it in the aftermath last year. Everyone was sick of that to a man, especially the way it worked out last draft.

I have to agree with BP and JP here, Bren, quit being a douche. The only person complaining about this is you, and you are only complaining because something was changed that you implemented. There's a reason you have no power any more. I don't believe these guys are deleting posts of people that don't agree with them or anything like that. They moved the draft up, one person has complained, that's it. Deal with it and quit being an asshole

I don't agree 100% with Bren - but the tone of that post by JP didn't exactly 'feel' like a discussion. It felt more like a decision. And I, for one, will have a very very difficult time drafting on time in December - and I am someone that really does not like using the queue.
I think the league would be better to have brought it up in a "this is what we're thinking format" - but agreed they did post it, and not announce it. So, Bren, you're only kind of a douchebag on this one.
