DL Questions
basically I've been besieged with questions regarding the DL. The rules on the site says that if a player is on the DL as of Saturday midnight, they cannot play at all in the following week.
Is that necessary to have? I think as long as a player serves his two weeks on the DL then he should be able to be activated at any time during the week, especially since lineups can be sent in at any time.
Am I alone or does anybody else agree with me on this?

Ever here the phrase KISS, as in keep it simple stupid? The Saturday rule is there because it makes it a kajillion times easier to keep track of. If someone wants to take on a full-time DL responsibility to do day to day DL then we can consider it, otherwise it sounds like it adds a lot of hassle for not a lot of benefit.

I'm not sure how it is relevant to a daily DL. It's just allowing the player to be activated midweek. Why should somebody lose a guy for a full 3 weeks if he comes off the DL on Monday for his MLB club? That makes little to no sense. I'm not advocating disabling players midweek, but if the GM wishes to send an MP, the only person that's more work for is said GM.

First of all, considering the roster mess that just happened whether or not someone might try to cheat or inadvertently make a mistake is a stupid question. It WILL happen. Losing the extra days at the end of a DL stay for the week is pretty much offset by gaining extra days for guys who are retroactively DL'ed. Like I said, I don't see the great benefit of the change your proposing.

Doesn't look that way to me. See the IBC Forum thread.Athletics wrote:True, but on the other hand you have situations where guys get DL'ed Sunday and then play the entire week, even though they haven't played in the previous five days in real life because of the injury. In any case, sounds like your alone here since none of the other ExCo members are jumping on this.

Right, but it's not always about a player JUST spending 2 weeks on the DL. What about this example:
Jack goes on the DL Saturday April 5th. He is ineligible for the upcoming week.
Jack comes off the DL Sunday April 20th. He is ineligible for the upcoming week.
He spends three IBC weeks on the DL because of coming off the DL Sunday and not Saturday. A bit loony.
